Holocaust Heroes:
The Story of
Irena Sendler
Holocaust Heroes is a graphic novel which tells the story of Irena Sendler, a Polish woman who helped rescue thousands of Jewish children out of the Warsaw Ghetto, in Poland during World War II.
The story is set in Irena’s home in present day Warsaw Poland, where the now elderly woman recounts the events of the Holocaust, taking the reader through those horrific times. The text guides the reader through
the unimaginable darkness while the illustrations reflect the tone of the story: dark, gritty, and layered with detail that will keep the reader invested in this gripping tale.
